HOW DO THEY DO DENTAL IMPLANTS IN ONE DAY
STEWARTSVILLE OH

Updated On Thursday, July 19, 2018 01:25:19 AM

Our practice likes new technology, particularly when it improves the dental care that we can supply to our patients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a terrific brand-new technology where stunning all porcelain crowns are produced within two hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to have the crown constructed. During this time the client would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was normally uncomfy.

Today, our equipment allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our practice with the permanent crown that day!

  • There's no need to have a short-term crown for two or three weeks.

  • There's no need to return once again to have the single day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once again! No more needles!

Our office prefers same day crowns due to the fact that it is made of gorgeous material as well as extremely durable.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the afflicted tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that brand-new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can result in tooth pain and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists offer both kinds of fillings, but find that many of their clients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings supply great toughness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to hold up against moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this may lead to a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, often allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the entire filling process and they go through stain and discoloration in time. The life span of a white filling can depend significantly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also typically utilized to repair front teeth that have actually chipped or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is generally much less expensive than veneers or crowns. However, bonding generally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
