Two Advantages Offered By Same Day Crowns

Crowns can frequently be a bit of a headache to get, mostly since traditional crowns will typically need numerous visits prior to the procedure is actually finished.

However, lots of dentists have actually decided to purchase the necessary tools to make same day crowns within their practice.

Listed below are just 2 of the great benefits provided by selecting a same day crown:

It's Convenient
Trying to find time to obtain a traditional crown can be more than a bit challenging for any individual that has a hectic work or home life.

It can be very hard to convince your employer let you take time off in the middle of the work day a minimum of two times in the span of a couple of weeks to complete the process.

This is necessary for a crown treatment as you will need to go to the dentist to have your tooth prepared for the crown then go in again a week or more later in order to have the final crown applied.

Nevertheless, you do not need to worry about asking for time off multiple times or to find a sitter for your kids more than once during a same day crown procedure.

Because the dental practitioner can fabricate your crown in the office, she or he can usually apply the permanent crown as soon as your tooth is treated and formed for the crown.

This is excellent as you will not have to risk inconveniencing your boss, coworkers, babysitter, or family.

Same Day Crowns Are More Comfortable

Another reason to consider a same day crown is merely because it can be quite a bit less agonizing than a traditional crown treatment.

This is because the fact that you do not need to wait numerous days or weeks between steps in the crown procedure entirely negates the requirement for a short-term crown.

Temporary crowns are used to secure your tooth after your initial visit until your final crown shows up and is applied.

Regrettably, short-term crowns will frequently not fit all that well which can result in liquids and food getting under it and reaching your exposed nerves and causing discomfort.

In addition, an ill-fitting short-term crown is going to be prone to moving around. This shifting can result in the short-term crown to scratch your gums or the inside of your cheeks.

Sure, this kind of crown is just meant to be used for a brief period of time, but it can be rather miserable for that short amount of time.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure in which we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain situations where a tooth has been damaged or ended up being stained. These are generally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable means rather than through a more costly dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
