What Are Single Visit Crowns?

The single visit crown is a technology for restoring broken teeth, and this restoration can be completed in a single appointment to the dental practitioner's office. It makes your teeth tougher and more beautiful, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the state-of-the-art ceramic material works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

More About The Same Day Crown Process

During your visit, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the procedure and your dentist will answer any questions you might have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Today's Subject Is:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in specific situations where a tooth has actually been damaged or ended up being stained. These are generally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable ways rather than through a more costly dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close spaces between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a lustrous finish as a last step.
