Why Choose Single Day Dental Crowns?

There are lots of advantages of same day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a temporary crown, which removes significant possible discomfort and inconvenience of a lost temporary restoration. Only one appointment means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No standard impressions which means there is no gagging.

  • Visual appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new technology restores your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function and closely match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Strength: Milled ceramic is tougher than the standard method of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain gorgeous for years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and innovation can also be used for fillings. Since they are constructed of porcelain, they are more long lasting than white composite fillings. They are much more aesthetic than mercury including silver fillings and stronger because of bonding innovation.

Today's Conversation Is About:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling since new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can result in tooth pain and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists provide both kinds of fillings, however find that a number of their clients choose the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer good sturdiness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this might result in a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, commonly enabling a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the whole filling procedure and they go through stain and staining with time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend greatly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also commonly used to fix front teeth that have actually cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is normally much cheaper than veneers or crowns. However, bonding normally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
