At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have actually now been using this technology for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, usually in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everyone enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling unit.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time then we clean up!

We have to make sure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Discovering issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the doctor to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
