Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might one day need replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, beautiful smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy typically involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
