What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

There are multiple benefits to having treatment with same day crowns over traditional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is performed in a single visit, you just need to see the dentist once, take one day away from your routine to have the procedure, instead of the typical 2 or three appointments.

  • Only one set of local, since the entire procedure can be carried out within an hour you just have to have one injection.

  • Your dental practitioner is in complete control of the outcome, since the crown or inlay are designed and produced from start to finish by your dental practitioner, they have total control over how it will look and fit.

Today Were Discussing:

Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with the majority of dental restorations, veneers may someday need replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last years, providing you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique typically involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
