Why Choose Single Day Crowns?

There are many advantages of same day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, saving you substantial time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no need for a temporary crown, which removes significant potential pain and inconvenience of a lost temporary restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No standard impressions which means there is no gagging.

  • Visual appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new technology restores your teeth to their natural strength, charm, and function and closely match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is tougher than the standard method of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain beautiful for multiple years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since they are made out of porcelain, they are more long lasting than white composite fillings. They are a lot more aesthetic than mercury consisting of silver fillings and tougher because of bonding innovation.

If you have any more questions about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please do not hesitate to contact our office today. We will answer any concerns you have and you can make an appointment to consult with our dentist face to face.

Today's Conversation Has To Do With:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be required to repair a badly damaged joint.
