Usually, acquiring a crown for a damaged or deteriorating tooth is a long process that includes numerous steps and possibly numerous days of wait time before you get your new tooth.

A same day crown makes it possible for you to walk in to see a dentist and leave with your new tooth already in place. If you have a dental practitioner offering same day crowns and are anticipating your visit, it is most likely that you will have some concerns about the procedure.

Here are a few of the biggest questions about same day crowns and the answers you will want to know.

How is a same day crown any different from a regular dental crown?

The truth is, there is not a great deal of difference at the same time to get a same day crown.

The only difference is that you will not be sent home to await your long-term crown to be produced by a dental lab, as the crown will be made in the dental office while you are there.

This removed the lengthy procedure of being fitted with a temporary crown and then later refitted with the long-term crown when it is complete.

How is it possible for a dentist to produce a long-term crown during your visit?

With developments in dental technology, if a dental practitioner has the best equipment in the office, along with the right ability, they can develop the new tooth from a strong piece of ceramic while you wait. This takes place using a machine that takes the direct measurement of the mouth and existing teeth and transforms it into an actual prosthetic from the ceramic using accurate computer technology.

Besides the apparent advantage of less time to finish, what are the advantages of same day crowns?

Same day crowns allow you to avoid the entire step of a short-term crown, which can be a hassel to look after and may be prone to dislodging with easy oral hygiene, such as flossing and brushing.

Since whole actions are gotten rid of from the crowning process, such as multiple dental visits, you might even conserve some money to have a new same day crown put on.

To walk into a dentist office and walk out with a new crown in one visit is an ideal and rational choice for patients who require help with a damaged tooth.

Talk with your dental practitioner for more information about same day crowns.

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of the majority of patients, there are a number of methods to lighten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will lighten teeth considerably. Because tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous approaches: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three various strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and practical whitening process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
