Two Advantages Provided By Same Day Crowns

Crowns can frequently be a bit of a headache to get, primarily since traditional crowns will often need multiple visits before the procedure is actually finished.

However, lots of dentists have opted to buy the required tools to produce same day crowns within their offices.

Listed below are just two of the terrific benefits offered by selecting a same day crown:

It Is Convenient
Searching for time to get a standard crown can be more than a bit challenging for anybody that has a busy work or home life.

It can be really hard to persuade your boss let you take some time off in the middle of the work day at least twice in the space of a few weeks to complete the process.

This is essential for a crown procedure as you will need to see the dental practitioner to have your tooth prepared for the crown and then go in once again a week or more later in order to have the final crown applied.

Nevertheless, you do not need to worry about asking for time off multiple times or to get a babysitter for your kids more than once throughout a same day crown treatment.

Since the dental practitioner can fabricate your crown in the office, he or she can generally use the long-term crown as quickly as your tooth is treated and formed for the crown.

This is excellent as you will not need to take the chance of inconveniencing your manager, coworkers, babysitter, or family.

They Are More Comfortable

Another reason to think about a same day crown is merely because it can be a fair bit less uncomfortable than a traditional crown treatment.

This is because the fact that you do not have to wait a number of days or weeks in between steps in the crown process completely negates the need for a short-term crown.

Temporary crowns are used to secure your tooth after your preliminary appointment until your final crown arrives and is put on.

Regrettably, temporary crowns will frequently not fit all that well which can lead to liquids and food getting under it and reaching your exposed nerves and causing pain.

In addition, an ill-fitting temporary crown is going to be prone to moving around. This shifting can lead to the short-term crown to scratch your gums or the inside of your cheeks.

Sure, this kind of crown is only meant to be used for a short amount of time, but it can be fairly miserable for that short amount of time.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a terribly damaged joint.
