SAME DAY DENTAL CROWNS
LITTLE ROCK IOWA

Updated On Friday, February 22, 2019 07:43:34 AM

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have actually now been using this technology for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to replace broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, typically in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling unit.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much stronger.

The block is then precisely carved to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time and after that we tidy up!

We have to make certain that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. When this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very painful. Signs that the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
