Same Day Teeth Restorations
CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.
With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.
CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

- Root Canal Therapy
Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. When this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).
By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very painful. Signs that the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem till a checkup.
A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
