Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like the majority of dental restorations, veneers might one day need replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct method normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy typically involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
