Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays a vital role in our practice. This remarkable development in chair side dentistry offers us the tools to develop, produce, and place crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The standard approach to a crown or inlay and onlay often required a return visit after the client waited (with a temporary restoration in the tooth) for about 2 weeks while the restoration was produced in a separate lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology removes the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns use a special camera to take an accurate image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes over and automatically mills the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole process takes about one hour, and there are no bothersome temporaries or second appointment needed!

Proven Technology

With two decades of medical research study and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have actually shown to be a an reliable, safe and hassle-free innovation that we are delighted to offer to our patients.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of most clients, there are a number of methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient whitening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays should be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
