What's So Great About Same Day Dental Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and frequently an uncomfortable procedure that can take multiple weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill stunning tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture entering our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more details!

The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the details of the treatment and your dentist will answer any concerns you might have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Porcelain Teeth Veneers

Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers may one day need replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last multiple years, providing you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method generally involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care instructions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
