DENTAL CROWN SAME DAY

Updated On Wednesday, April 24, 2019 02:10:22 PM

Temporary crowns and second visits for crowns are now generally unnecessary thanks to the same day crown innovation. We offer this exciting one-visit crown technology in our office, adding higher convenience to the procedure of getting a crown. The waiting time between your procedure and when you get your permanent crown is eliminated.

The same day crown innovation is an instrument that allows ceramic restorations (veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns) to be performed in one check-up instead of 2. The computer coordinates with a digital camera enabling the dentist to make digital impressions without the annoyance of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes control and mills your customized crown right away so that we can cement your brand-new crown that same day. The results we see are fantastic. With the same day crowns, the strength, aesthetics, and fit of the ceramic restorations are superb.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with a lot of dental restorations, veneers may someday need replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique typically involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique normally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and gorgeous veneers.
