Single Visit Crowns - A Smart Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It permits us to create crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have needed 2 appointments. The first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. During the 2nd visit, the short-term crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be completed in just one visit. We will use video imaging technology to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling device that sculpts the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a short-term in addition to a 2nd appointment.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be extremely important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is normally constructed out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and traditional bridges or dentures might not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels extremely natural. Surgically positioned below the gums over a series of appointments, implants connect to the jawbone and work as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants offer stability due to the fact that they fuse to your bone, a procedure called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also discover the secure fit is more comfy than conventional substitutes. Candidates for dental implants should have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What's Involved In Getting A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is securely set in the mouth, the dentist then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has a number of benefits. First, there is no modification period to acclimatize the client who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no pain or difficulty in eating. And, best of all, of course, they don't have to be taken out all the time.
