CROWNS IN A DAY

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this innovation for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to change damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single visit, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling device.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't built up layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is great.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded flawlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time then we tidy up!

We have to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and appealing smile.

Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with a lot of dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct method generally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is usually referred to as bonding.

The indirect method usually involves two visits because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care instructions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and beautiful veneers.
